Letter: Together, we can make a difference

My name is Mark K. Armstrong and the Lord has laid it heavily upon my heart to build a ministry here in the Kingman/Golden Valley area. My purpose for this ministry is to reach out to the lost and hurting in this community. I want to get down in the trenches and lift these lost souls up to the foot of the cross. There are several aspects to this ministry, the first being to reach out to the widow then to the orphan. There are hundreds of elderly folks here who are in desperate need of not only daily supplies for living but also companionship. We would be honored if you would join us in this effort.

Our next phase of ministry would be to open a united soup kitchen and overnight shelter for the homeless of our community. This kitchen and shelter would be operated and funded by all of the churches within our community as well as private business, giving every denomination and congregation the opportunity to share their message of salvation and serve the Lord in a mighty way within the community.

The third phase of our ministry will be to open the Christian Distribution Center. This is a warehouse of needful items that will be distributed at no cost to those that have a need. The Bible never teaches us to feed the hungry and clothe the naked at 85 percent off. Matthew 10:8 states, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." It is our goal to open this center and invite the youth from all denominations to work there as a community project. We believe that will give them a strong sense of community and also teach them that we are all Christians and that Christ died for all of us. We want to break down the wall of division within the body of Christ.

We are asking for your support in one of the following ways: 1) Prayer for this ministry; 2) Financial support on an ongoing basis; 3) Temporary support or a onetime gift; 4) A commitment to help with the soup kitchen and overnight shelter; and 5) To maintain an open heart and follow where God leads you to serve.

There is no reason that we should not pull together to make this area of Mohave County a safer, more productive weapon in the fight against the evils of this world. All we really need is a minimum of $2 twice a year from every member of every church in every city to make this a reality for Jesus and His Kingdom. Please join us in the fight against Satan and his demonic forces. If you have questions, call me at (928) 897-3767. Thank you.
