My many thanks to the folks at Arizona Game and Fish Department for their one-evening workshop on the desert bighorn sheep followed by a four-hour outing on the Colorado River. On that trip, we participants spotted probably 50 or so bighorn in their natural habitat.
The Black Mountains along the Colorado River contain the largest concentration of desert bighorn in the country, maybe the world, and it's to AZGFD's credit that they take their time and money to educate us on this magnificent species that resides in our backyard.
The boat crews on the river couldn't have been more accommodating, allowing us amateur nature photographers every chance to get our camera clicks in.
Again, my hat's off to the AZGFD for their time and devotion.
