KINGMAN

The 10th Annual Polar Bear Dip starts at noon New Year's Day at Centennial Pool, with those taking the plunge expected to emerge from the water moments later.

The plunge is open to anyone interested in starting off the year by braving the near freezing waters of Centennial Pool. Several unknown prizes await brave swimmers at the bottom of the pool.

The event is free and warm showers will be available after the event. Spectators are also welcome.

DOLAN SPRINGS

The Dolan Springs Trails Committee New Year's Day hike starts at 9 a.m. Saturday on the 13th Street Trailhead behind Mt. Tipton School.

The hike is rated as easy but participants are advised to dress warmly and bring water and snacks.
