Viola May Mullenax, 87, of Kingman passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, in Kingman. She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Oto, Iowa, to Ray and Maude Bolles. She was the oldest of five children.
The family moved to Phoenix in 1934. They relocated to the Big Sandy in 1937, where Vi attended school. On Sept. 18, 1943, Vi married Harvey Mullenax. They moved to Kingman and spent their lives here raising their family. Vi loved taking care of family and friends. She was one of the best cooks and loved feeding people, day or night.
Vi was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Harvey; his three children, Dorsey Mullenax, Robert Mullenax and Betty June Johnson; also son, Ralph Mullenax; and sisters, Rosa Lee Mullenax and Dorothy Hubbard.
She is survived by two brothers, Ray John Bolles and Donald Bolles; daughters, Violet Ann Davis (Steve), Vickie Logan (Leonard), Delores Lewis (Doug) of Oregon and Ellis Mullenax.
She has 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Vi's life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the home of Leonard and Vickie Logan at 480 Sunrise Ave. Everyone is welcome.
