Irene McGeorge, 71, of Kingman passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Kingman. She was born May 30, 1938, in Custer, S.D., and came to Kingman 24 years ago from Roseville, Calif.
Irene retired from Roseville Hospital as the lead cook, came to Kingman and went to work at Kingman Regional Medical Center as lead cook.
Irene is survived by her husband, Ronald McGeorge Sr. of Kingman; two sons, Ronald McGeorge Jr. of Kingman and Steven McGeorge of Lincoln, Calif.; two daughters, Susan McGeorge-Steinberger of Kingman and Pamela McGeorge-Jassel of Sparks, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Irene came from a pioneer family who settled in South Dakota in the 1800s. Besides making her traditional tacos and enjoying her wonderful kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, she was happiest in her yard with her hula hoe. She was a professional craft shopper. She gave her best to everyone she met. Anyone and everyone was welcome in her home for a cup of coffee, a meal and a little worldly advice. We could go on and on about this incredible woman, but anyone who knew her would know she wouldn't like it. So Happy Trails, Honey, Mom and Grandma.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to Praise Chapel's Benevolence Ministry, 419 Harrison St., Kingman, AZ 86401.
