KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report at the Mohave County Jail on Feb. 12 regarding an assault on a detention officer by an inmate. Deputies contacted the detention officer around 6 a.m. He said that as they removed inmate Arthur Lloyd Gier Jr., 47, of Bullhead City from his cell, he damaged a fire sprinkler and water was running from the ceiling. The detention officer said Gier was uncooperative as he was being moved from his cell. Deputies learned that Gier bit a detention officer in the hand as he was being further restrained. Deputies contacted Gier and charged him with aggravated assault on a detention officer and jail destruction/injury to jail, both felonies.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested William C Spencer, 29, of Kingman Feb. 12 for burglary and trafficking stolen property, both felonies. On Feb. 6, deputies were contacted via the telephone regarding a theft. The victim reported more than $2,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from their residence in Kingman. Later, the victim informed the deputy that Spencer, her daughter's boyfriend, took the jewelry and sold some items to pawn shops. Investigations confirmed Spencer pawned a wedding ring set. Deputies contacted Spencer at a residence in the 2900 block of Thompson Avenue. He allegedly admitted to taking and selling some of the jewelry to support his addiction to prescription pills. He was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Andres Albert Rubidoux, 21, of Kingman last Sunday for felony possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court per domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Deputies responded to a contempt of court at a residence in the 2800 block of McVicar Avenue and contacted the reporting party, a 19-year-old female victim. The victim said that Rubidoux is her ex-boyfriend and she has an order of protection against him. The victim reported that Rubidoux has violated the order as he communicated with her two times via her MySpace account. Deputies viewed the communications online and confirmed the order of protection to be valid. Deputies responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Hearne Avenue and contacted Rubidoux. During conversations, he allegedly admitted to sending her two messages. He was arrested without incident. A search of Rubidoux revealed a pill bottle containing a strong odor of marijuana and residue. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue units were deployed Feb. 12 due to a missing person in the mountains of the Arizona Strip. Search and Rescue units responded from Kingman and Bullhead City, along with a Department of Public Safety Air Rescue unit. The missing person was identified as Berklee Holm, 57, of Hildale, Utah. SAR personnel searched throughout the evening and into Sunday morning until the subject was located. A fixed-wing aircraft belonging to a SAR volunteer was also utilized. A local ranger spotted the missing person and brought him to safety. Apparently, Holm's vehicle had become stuck in the mud near Mount Dellenbaugh. Holm was reunited with his relatives.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue units were deployed last Sunday afternoon due to a missing person on a motorcycle. Search and Rescue units from Kingman and Bullhead City were already in the area. Deputies located the missing person as he walked out from the desert to the highway.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue units responded last Sunday evening due to a person stranded on Mount Nutt. Gary Jacque, 49, of Kingman called from his cell phone and said he was unable to make it down the mountain. The Kingman Air Rescue Ranger and Department of Public Safety responded and located Jacque around 5:20 p.m. He was in good health and he was taken to his vehicle.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested six illegal immigrants early Wednesday morning during a traffic stop on Highway 68 at milepost 22 around 12:28 a.m. Deputies, with the assistance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, determined the six occupants to be illegal immigrants. They were arrested and transported to the Mohave County Jail, where ICE will later take them into custody. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
