Ardell Rees Wolsey, 81, a former resident of Kingman and recently of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully in his loving wife's arms on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. Ardell was born April 6, 1928, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Merelda Bennett Wolsey and Edward Lincoln Wolsey. He was the oldest of six children.
Ardell owned several successful businesses and retired to Las Vegas in 1985 to serve in the Las Vegas Temple. Ardell served faithfully in many callings in the LDS Church including bishop of the Warm Springs Ward. One of his most precious callings was his mission to Kodiak, Alaska, with his sweetheart, Thelma.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Thelma Dudley Wolsey; and his children, Bonnie Buchanan, A. Lamont Wolsey, Joanne W. Spelts, Linda Rigby, Eric Wolsey, Stephen Wolsey and Ronald Wolsey. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Wolsey; grandsons, Grant Ardell Spelts and Brandon Wolsey; granddaughter, Mariah Wolsey; and great-grandson, Carter Wolsey.
He will always be remembered for the things that meant the most to him, mainly his family and posterity, including 64 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Warm Springs LDS Stake Center. The chapel is located at 7670 South Bruce St. (Robindale and Eastern), Las Vegas, NV 89123. The viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at 11 a.m.
