GOLDEN VALLEY - A McKee Foods truck carrying Little Debbie snacks overturned in Golden Valley earlier this week.

The accident happened shortly before noon Tuesday on Shinarump Drive near Bacobi Road. Authorities say the 39-year-old Kingman driver had left McKee Foods on Oatman Road and was on his way out of state when the accident occurred.

The driver apparently failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway. The truck drifted off the right side of the road and the driver over-corrected, rolling the truck onto its right side. The driver and a 42-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries.

Golden Valley Fire Chief Paul Hewitt said the turn on Shinarump Road near Cococino Road has been the site of many accidents over the years.

"Shinarump is deceiving in that it looks like you could safely drive at a higher speed, until you enter a sharp turn such as this one - and then it's too late," he said.
