Upon their arrival, they were advised that two juveniles were seen leaving the property. While checking the area, the deputies observed two male subjects and made contact with them. During the contact, a transient, 19-year-old Patrick Bailey, advised that he had narcotics on him and that he knew he was wanted because he saw his picture in the paper. A records check was conducted and a warrant for probation violation returned. He was arrested, and in conducting a routine search, a glass pipe with burnt residue and a small plastic bottle containing possible narcotics (determined later to be Xanax) were found. Bailey was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Jail, where he was booked on felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs and the probation violation warrant.

The first arriving units deployed hose lines to contain the fire to the porch and front living room area. The other units provided fire suppression to the south side of the structure where two sheds and a 1/4-acre of grass were burning. The fire was contained in approximately 10 minutes after arrival of the first engine company. The fire cause was determined to be accidental in nature due to a wind burst, which witnesses stated caused a metal shed to make contact with power lines. The Mohave County Sheriff's Department, American Medical Response Ambulance and UniSource Energy provided assistance. No injuries were reported of fire personnel or occupants. Damage estimates were not available.
