KINGMAN - Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for last week's robbery of the Circle K on Kingman Avenue.

Matthew Carl Albert, 25, was arrested Saturday, three days after surveillance camera footage from the robbery was published by local media outlets.

Lt. Rusty Cooper with the Kingman Police Department said an off-duty officer saw Albert inside a convenience store on Hualapai Mountain Road Saturday and thought he matched the subject description from the robbery.

The officer called for an on-duty unit, which arrested Albert on Andy Devine Avenue after he left the store in his car.

Police say Albert admitted to the robbery, in which a pocketknife was used to threaten the clerk, who was not hurt. He faces a felony charge of armed robbery.
