KINGMAN - The Kingman Gunslingers, an Old West-style gunfighting troupe, will be displaying their talents this weekend at the Historic Route 66 Swap Meet at Route 66 and Thompson Avenue northeast of town.
Members will be performing gunfights, fist fights and shootout skits starting around 1 p.m. Saturday, and again at 11 a.m. Sunday.
This weekend's shows will mark the first performance by the gunslingers since their leader, Cheyenne Cooper, decided to reform the group earlier this year.
"I lost a couple people, but I got a few others in place of them, and I'm just hoping that they all do their best," Cooper said of his new recruits. The gunslingers are also planning a show from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4 at VFW Post 10386, 3036 John L Ave.
The entertainment will be free to all comers, though Cooper is accepting donations or sponsorships to help pay for costumes, ammunition and building materials for sets.
