Fraternal Order of Police: President John Slaughter and the members of the local Fraternal Order of Police welcome the newly formed associate lodge to the national organization. The FOPA is the civilian affiliate of the FOP and has more than 100,000 members nationally. Members of the FOPA are friends and families of law enforcement officers, responsible and respected business persons, professional men and women, and citizens from all walks of life - people willing to devote a portion of their time and efforts toward assisting the various law enforcement agencies of our community. New members met at the Mohave County Sheriff's Office on June 16 to form the association. The FOPA Charter was signed by 21 members who then selected the slate of officers for the remainder of 2010. The group will hold their first official meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at the House of Chan in Kingman. Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the FOPA is welcome and encouraged to attend. If you have questions, contact Slaughter at (928) 716-3729.
