In regards to the horse races closing, many towns combine their annual county fair with other attractions such as a rodeo, racing of many types and grandstand events like tractor pulls, mainstream music or variety shows. We here in Kingman have a stand-alone fair, then a rodeo, then races. All of them bemoan the fact that the economy or something or the other is hurting their attendance. A while back I talked to a fair board member who said he thought the reason Kingman does not have combined events was an ego problem with the ruling bodies of each event.
I have been to a lot of fairground events and have enjoyed them all. However, it can be seen that the attendance is lower in some years than in others. I think a combination of any or all of these attractions will greatly enhance Kingman's summer season. So, how about it?
