KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Units were deployed due to two subjects stranded in the desert. Steven Brodie, 23, of Bullhead City called from his cell phone to report that he and his girlfriend were stranded due to their truck being stuck on a cliff near Finger Rock. Bullhead City, Kingman and Lake Havasu City Search and Rescue Units responded to the area of Thumb Butte off of Highway 68 near milepost 6 around 8:30 p.m. Mohave Air, SAR fixed-wing aircraft also responded and assisted. The subjects were located in a motel room Friday morning in good condition. They had been aided by a passer-by.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Daniel Lee Young, 42, of Kingman Monday for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and trespassing, misdemeanor. As deputies were patrolling a neighborhood around 6:35 p.m., they observed a suspicious male subject in an alleyway. The male subject started walking faster when he observed the patrol vehicle. As deputies approached, he started running away from the vehicle. The male subject was wearing a leather jacket and jeans. Deputies exited their vehicle and followed him eastbound in the alleyway of Lum and Thompson. Deputies observed him take off the leather jacket and drop it on the ground. They detained the male subject identified as Young in the 4000 block of Ryan Avenue. A search of the jacket revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana, a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, a plastic bag containing a white crystal rock, a glass pipe with residue and a syringe. A search of Young's flannel shirt revealed a glass pipe with burnt residue. During conversations with Young, he said the leather jacket was not his. Young complained of having chest pains and was transported to Hualapai Mountain Medical Center, where he was treated and medically released. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without further incident.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Aghasi Grigoryan, 35, of Los Angeles Tuesday for felony use of a credit card with the intent to defraud. Deputies responded to a fraud report at a truck stop around 1:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of Minerva Lane. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party, the store manager, who said that a customer, later identified as Grigoryan, charged $200 worth of gasoline on a credit card where the last four digits on the credit card did not match the receipt. Deputies contacted Grigoryan. He said that he found the credit card in the parking lot. Investigations determined that the credit card was a prepaid card, yet the computerized magnetic strip account did not match the printed numbers on the face of the card. Grigoryan was arrested without incident.
