FLAGSTAFF - Local citizens looking for work will have yet another opportunity to build their skillsets when Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff hosts the first ever Northern Arizona Career Expo early next month.
According to a release from the Coconino County Joint Education Technical District, the college will host the expo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 3 in the NAU Skydome. The expo will feature more than 100 exhibitors and schools showcasing their industry and educational opportunities for students and parents alike, with an emphasis on the skills workers will need to compete in the 21st century.
The expo promises something for everyone, from interactive, hands-on demonstrations to workshops and info sessions on the latest cross-generational employability skills. High school and post-secondary career and technical education programs will also showcase the steps they can take to help students obtain the tools they need to succeed, and multiple businesses from across Northern Arizona will be on hand to discuss current and future job opportunities, as well as the skills and requirements to becoming a part of their industry.
