Congregation Or Midbar, our Jewish congregation in Kingman, will be holding its annual Passover Seder at the Kathryn Heidenreich Senior Center, 1776 Airway Ave. on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010. Doors open @ 3:30 p.m. and the Seder will begin @ 4:00 p.m.
Passover is a special holiday in which we celebrate our freedom, commemoration the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt. We read the Hagada, a book that tells the story of our people leaving Egypt to escape the Pharaoh who enslaved us. During this holiday, certain foods are strictly forbidden while others appear only at Passover.
Matzo balls and Gefilte fish, as well as other traditional foods, will be served as part of our complete dinner at this year's Seder.
Children are included in the Seder by the asking of the traditional four questions to the leader of the Seder and discussing their responses.
Everyone is welcome! The cost for non members is $20.00 for adults and $50.00 for families; and the cost for congregation members is $10.00 for adults and $25.00 for families.
Seating is limited, so an RSVP is required. Be sure to call 928-565-3441 to make your reservation by March 22nd. Checks or money orders can be mailed to: P.O. Box 6172 Kingman, AZ 86402.
