KINGMAN - An unusual accident Tuesday put one teen driver in the hospital with minor injuries and caused extensive property damage.
Kingman Police officers responded around 10 a.m. to a rear-end accident on Morrow Avenue.
According to police, a white Toyota Celica traveling westbound on Morrow stopped for a stop sign and was rear-ended by the 16-year-old male driver of a copper-colored minivan.
For unknown reasons, the 19-year-old male driver of the Celica suddenly accelerated and turned eastbound on Morrow, plowed through a field, through a fence, through a yard and into another fence before coming to a stop.
The driver of the Celica was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and treated for head injuries.
His 18-year-old female passenger was reportedly unhurt.
The driver of the minivan was cited for failure to control his vehicle.
