KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Leslie Scott Crawford, 50, of Bullhead City Saturday for felony promoting prison contraband. Deputies responded to the Arizona State Prison at 4626 English Drive that afternoon in reference to a drug report. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a sergeant, the class instructor for the prison's academy. The sergeant said the class instruction that morning was on searches and contraband. He said that the class was advised that the cadets and their belongings were subject to search at anytime. Personal items were searched, which included lunch boxes, backpacks and notebooks. Crawford, a cadet in the class, was detained after a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance was allegedly located inside his lunch box. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine. During conversations with Crawford, he said that he made a bad mistake. He was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Gregory Wayne Rodgers, 22, of Kingman, Sunday for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and a misdemeanor warrant for probation violation issued by Kingman Municipal Court. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Northern Avenue west of Van Nuys Road around 8:40 p.m. and contacted Rodgers, the driver. Deputies knew Rodgers to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested without incident. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputies also allegedly located numerous plastic bags containing a white crystal residue. Rodgers was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Christopher Ramirez-Velarde, 40, a Kingman transient, Tuesday after deputies conducted a traffic stop on Beale Street near the Interstate 40 around 4 a.m. Deputies contacted Ramirez-Velarde, the driver, as well as the passenger. A records check showed the passenger to have a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court. Ramirez-Velarde was determined to be an illegal immigrant. Both men were arrested without incident. They were transported to Mohave County Jail where the passenger was booked into the jail. An immigration hold was placed on Ramirez-Velarde by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.The vehicle was towed from the scene.
