Allen Miller was born Christmas Day, 1918, in Tolar, Texas. He left this earth on Monday, May 3, 2010, with Paul Miller by his bedside.
As a World War II Army Air Force member, he served in the South Pacific. The many things he did were Boy Scout leader, policeman, constable and Merced County agriculture inspector. In later years, he had a shoe repair and cowboy boot-making business.
He was very active in the Masonic Lodge in Los Banos, Calif., Lake Havasu City and Kingman. All his life he was a member of the Methodist Church.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Marcheta; children, John Miller in Fresno, Calif., Susan Janke and Paul Miller in Kingman; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Allen will be buried in the San Joaquin National Cemetery near Los Banos, where, by tradition, wildflower seeds are scattered over the hillside.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, at the Rough Ashler Daylight Lodge, 2985 John L Ave., Kingman.
