The first graduates of Mohave Community College's recently accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program received their professional pins at a ceremony Wednesday night on the Lake Havasu City campus. The students started the new MCC program two years ago, and throughout their instruction, the program was evaluated for accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. CAPTE granted accreditation to MCC in April. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Catherine Fitzgerald Leadership award to student Brett Novak. A gift from Fitzgerald's estate helped to fund the new PTA laboratory at MCC.
