Gratz to speak on Proposition 107 tomorrow

Proposition 107 supporter Jennifer Gratz will speak on Monday, Oct. 4, to the Kingman Republican Women's Club about her experience with affirmative action race quotas.

Gratz, nationally known as the plaintiff in the 2003 U.S. Supreme Court case, Gratz v. University of Michigan, is traveling Arizona to encourage a "yes" vote on Prop. 107. A "yes" vote would ban "affirmative action" programs that give preferences based on race or sex in three specific areas: public contracting, public employment and public education.

The meeting will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Hualapai Mountain Medical Center, 3801 Santa Rosa Drive in Kingman.
