KINGMAN - The first 12 of an additional 30 detention officers to work at the new jail in Kingman have been hired by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.
The new recruits are from Kingman, Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Lake Havasu City and Laughlin. They were required to participate in a one-day testing process, which included a written examination, a physical agility test and an interview before a three-member panel. The selected recruits will undergo military structure training that includes academics, physical agility exercises, jail procedures, and other various training.
The Sheriff's Office has added a special test date for Saturday, Oct. 16, in conjunction with the scheduled monthly testings. To participate, call (928) 753-0736 or visit http://www.co.mohave.az.us.
