Cowboys, Vikings set for KYFL showdown

KINGMAN - Wins this past Saturday by the Vikings and Cowboys in Kingman Youth Football League action at Kingman Middle School has led to a battle of unbeatens this Saturday. Both the Vikings and Cowboys are 3-0 and will meet on the gridiron at noon.

Vikings 47-20

Chase Williams had three touchdown runs of 45, 10 and 62 yards, and Brycen Hodges scored two touchdowns on runs of 34 and 30, as the Vikings outran the Chiefs, 47-20.

The Vikings led 20-0 on Williams' first two touchdowns and Hodges' first before the Chiefs (0-3) got on the board via a 20-yard touchdown run by Trey Haggler. Dylan Nicoletti scored on a 5-yard touchdown just before the half, and the Vikings led 26-6. John Wilson added a two-point kick conversion, and the Vikings led 28-6 at the half.

The Viking struck first in the third quarter when Hodges ran in his second touchdown and Williams followed with the extra point. The Chiefs answered with a 16-yard touchdown run by Joshua Lowe, and he ran in the PAT.

The Chiefs closed the gap to 35-20 with a Tyler Miner 32-yard touchdown, and Charles Cannon ran in the PAT.

The Vikings scored the last two touchdowns. Jeremy Stewart ran for a 50-yard score, and Williams scored his third TD of the game.

Cowboys 35-7

Andrew Davis found the end zone three times, and Kalanie Levrets picked up a fumble for a touchdown, as the Cowboys bolted past the Chargers, 35-7.

Levrets' TD was the first score of the game for the Cowboys, and Davis ran in the extra point. Davis scored on runs of 80, 60 and 38 yards. Jack Kirby added a 60-yard touchdown run. Justin Lunsford ran in three PATS, and Andrew Quick added one.

William Hodge, Jeremy Graffins, Josh Graffins, Paul Giglio and Stefano Zorrozua led the Cowboys' defense that almost held the Chargers (0-3) scoreless.

Packers 18-0

Jay Gastineau ran in two touchdowns and Derrick Kelley had one as the Packers improved to 2-1 with an 18-0 win over the Raiders.

Kael Juelfs, Kelley, Tyler Polly, Gastineau and Parker Taylor led the defensive effort that kept the Raiders (1-2) out of the end zone.
