Bulldog girls golf outshot in opener

KINGMAN - Glendale Mountain Ridge shot a 178 to outdistance Peoria Centennial (208) and Kingman (215) in the season-opening match for the KHS girls golf team Monday at Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course.

"The girls were a little nervous on opening day," KHS coach Ken Stalsberg said. "The girls made a good amount of good shots but were just not consistent."

The Bulldogs were 23 shots over the state qualifying mark of 192 in the keep-four scoring format.

Haley Moon led KHS with a 50, followed by Taylor Stephens (53), Visha McCoy (54), Jamie Robertson (58) and Brianna Peterson (61).

"Brianna had a cold, so that didn't help her," Stalsberg said.

"I think we'll put up some good scores Wednesday."

The Bulldogs are in Glendale to play Ironwood today at 3 p.m.
