GOLDEN VALLEY - A Golden Valley woman was killed after the car she was riding in was struck from behind on eastbound Highway 68 in front of the Off Road Diner around 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Jill Doty, 59, was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, 61-year-old Ronald Doty, when it was hit from behind by a truck driven by 83-year-old Irving Poissant of Wikieup. The Doty's car then left the road and both had to extricated from the vehicle.

Golden Valley Fire Chief Tom O'Donohue said Poissant drove another 2 miles down the road before he stopped, though it's not clear why. He was spotted by back-up fire units arriving on scene, who stopped to treat him for minor injuries. He was later transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and was released.

Ronald Doty was also hospitalized, reportedly with non-life threatening injuries.
