KINGMAN - Kingman Police are investigating the death of a 2-month-old girl.

The infant was brought to Kingman Regional Medical Center Easter morning where she was pronounced dead.

The mother told police the infant had been sleeping in bed with her and the father. The mother woke up and found the baby unresponsive.

The cause of the baby's death is unknown and pending autopsy results.

Officers investigating the death went to the family's home in the 2700 block of Chambers Avenue and found conditions that KPD Capt. Rusty Cooper described as "deplorable and unsuitable for children."

Child Protective Services were called and two children were removed from the home. Charges related to the condition of the house are pending. The parents are not in custody as their daughter's death is being investigated.
