Kingman Photos: Stupid Motorist Law

Motorists pass the time talking after monsoon season rains left this portion of north Stockton Hill Road impassable Sunday afternoon. The flash flood lasted around 20 minutes and left a large amount of debris in the roadway that was later cleared by the Mohave County Road Department. In 1995 Arizona passed what is referred to as the "Stupid Motorist Law," where drivers who enter flooded washes or streets can be billed up to $2,000 if they have to be rescued from such a situation.
