The Mohave County Democrats will hold their annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Metcalfe Park, 315 W. Beale St. Tickets are $20, children 10 and under are free.

This year's speakers include Gerald Richards, the vice chair of the Arizona Democratic Party and member of the Attorney General's Office in Phoenix. Arizona Corporation Commissioner Sandra Kennedy will also attend the event.

There will also be a magician, games, food and a silent auction. The party is also selling raffle tickets for a 42-inch flat screen TV. The TV will be raffled off at the Mohave County Fair.

BULLHEAD CITY

Bullhead City area residents will soon see improvements to State Route 95 near the south end of the Bullhead Parkway, from Rising Sun Road to Meadows Drive, as the Arizona Department of Transportation performs preventive maintenance work. The project will apply a microseal over the existing pavement. A microseal is a half-inch thick layer of asphalt and small rock that smoothes, seals and protects the pavement.

Lane restrictions will be in place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 9 to 12. The speed limit will be reduced. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1.
