Therald O. Holland, 101, of Golden Valley died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at The Lingenfelter Center in Kingman. He was born March 24, 1910, in Mitchell, S.D., to Henry and Ida Holland (deceased). He married Rachel Seim in 1935.
T.O. began his career in the livestock industry, selling on the road for Decker Meat Packing Company. Just before the end of World War II, T.O. moved his family to Southern California. He went to work as office manager for a cattle broker at the Union Stockyards in Los Angeles, and later managed the office for Cuyamaca Meat Company in El Cajon, He retired to Kingman in 1972 with his wife Rachel. He has been a faithful member of the Lutheran Church since childhood.
He is survived by his son, Jon Holland of Golden Valley; two daughters-in-law, Susan Holland of Golden Valley and Renata Holland of Maynard, Mass.; one granddaughter, Kirsten Baltzly of Tempe; and three grandsons, Matthew Holland of Davis, Calif., David Holland of Bedford, Mass., and Steve Holland of Ames, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with the service beginning at 10 on Thursday, Aug. 18, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St.
A graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road, follows the funeral.
