Hayley Owen, 17, a senior at Kingman High School, feels extremely honored to be selected as Student Rotarian. She would like to thank the Rotary Club for recognizing her achievements.
Since her freshman year, she has been involved in Health Occupations Students of America (president), Students Against Destructive Decisions (treasurer), Teen Court and Peer Mediation. She has also participated in the KRMC Volunteer Program, the Rock and Roll Paint-a-thon, Brain Bee Team, Future Health Leaders Program, Youth Advisory Commission, Clothe the Kids, Guide Dogs Club, National Honor Society, Renaissance Club, National Society of High School Scholars and Student Council. She is also employed by the Kingman Softball Association and has received the Violet Richardson Award and Biology awards.
For her presentation to the members of the Rotary Club, Hayley chose the topic, "HOSA's Impact on my Education, my Integrity and my Character."
Ms. Owen plans to further her education by attending the University of Arizona to study microbiology. She hopes to use her training in microbiology to work in public health and epidemiology outreach programs.
