Thirty-two nursing students from Mohave Community College participated in the time-honored pin ceremony on Dec. 8 at the Community Center in Lake Havasu City. The ceremony awards and MCC Nursing Program pin to each student who successfully completes the program. The students will now sit for their state board exams, and some will return in May to participate in the annual commencement ceremony. The students included Ana Alvarez, Bruce Anderson, Sara Baker, Kendra Bell, Amanda Bonilla, Jennifer Booze, Heather Bullard/Hanson, Ruth Cangialosi, Denise Collins, Susannah DeMarco, Charlene Goin, Ida Graham, Joseph Healey, Kari Hernandez and Zulema Herrera. Also participating were Christopher Hess, Kristi Johnson, Jennifer Johnston, Dawn Kaufman, Dorota Kotyra-Wright, Shaunacie Marquis-Olson, Gina Morgan, Misty Pagan, Decie Riggins, Rochelle Romo, Andrea Sheridan, Sarah Stacks, Jolene Sterling, Keith Sterrenberg, Julie Stout and Michelle Voytilla. The fall 2011 class included three other students who were unable to attend: Brandon Bejarano, Craig Coy and Jacqueline Tenney. Director of Nursing Cynthia Huth was master of ceremonies for the program and three student speakers gave their perspectives on the journey that will take them into service as registered nursing. The speakers were Cangialosi, Pagan and Riggins.
