KINGMAN - Kingman is coming together for the 2011-2012 Arbor Year Celebration as Mayor John Salem proclaimed March 2011 as Arbor Month in Kingman.

The tree planting celebration starts on March 12 at the Kingman Train Depot, followed by two other after-school gardening club tree planting events at La Senita Elementary, and KAOL Intermediate, and also another community tree planting and the Arbor Day Poster contest winner recognition at the Desert Willow Elementary School on April 30.

All Kingman Arbor Day supporters are encouraged to join in any of the above events.

Kingman Home Depot Store Manager Tony Maribito has approved the 10 percent coupon good for up to a $100 discount at the Kingman Home Depot store for any purchase until Mother's Day.

Katherine Scotts at Mandarin Orchards is also supporting the Kingman Arbor Day events with the 2 percent coupon good for any purchases until April 30.

The coupons will only be available at the scheduled events for participants (March 12 Train Depot Tree Planting Celebration; La Senita and KAOL Arbor Day events; and the April 30 Desert Willow Tree Planting Celebration).

Other businesses that want to support or assist with the Kingman Arbor Day events can contact Nina Brackett at the School Gardening Program (ninab@cals.arizona.edu).
