Charles Ray Finch

Charles "Chuck" Ray Finch entered this life Aug. 13, 1921, and entered eternal life June 6, 2011.

Chuck, beloved by and devoted to his family throughout his entire life, would have celebrated his 90th birthday in August - but will now truly be celebrating with his Lord and Savior Jesus, and beloved wife, Ellie!

Chuck's life was a full and memorable one, ranging from cowboy wrangler, to serving in the Navy aboard the USS Andres destroyer escort during WWII, employed with the telephone company for 27 years, and then as a Farmers Insurance agent for 13 years. He loved meeting new people and sharing stories, always with the purpose of turning someone's day around for the better! Chuck cherished family vacations, camping/hunting/fishing trips with family and friends, and was always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile!

Chuck was born in Artesia, N.M., to Arthur and Susie Finch, the fifth of six children, and was the last surviving. He was an Arizona resident all but 13 years, during which time the family resided in New Jersey.

Chuck is survived by his two daughters and families: Carole and Jim Ferrel, and Nancy and Charlie Walker; four grandchildren and spouses: Christopher (Sandy) Lehman, Kimberly (David) Maher, Kendra (Martin) Holdgraf, and Lauren Walker; six great-grandchildren: Connor Lehman, Tanner and Chase Maher, Caleb, Devan and Ethan Walker; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Father dear, you were a blessing in all of our lives, and will be missed enormously until we join you in eternity!

The family is planning a celebration of life memorial gathering in the near future for family and close friends.
