The Kingman Fire Department held a memorial service in remembrance of the firefighters killed during the Doxol propane explosion in 1973. Eleven firefighters and one civilian died during the explosion, which has since led to new safety procedures to prevent such a tragedy occurring again. Speakers included Fire Chief Chuck Osterman and Kingman Mayor John Salem. A bell was tolled for each fallen firefighter in Firefighter Memorial Park Tuesday evening. At top, KFD Color Guard stands at alert during the ceremony as some of the audience's shadows can be seen on the memorial's wall in the late evening light.
