I loved this movie! Of course, I'm both an animal lover and a Kevin James fan, so this comedy was made for people like me. The special and visual effects are just terrific in this highly entertaining film.
Kevin James as zookeeper Griffin Keyes, is his usual funny self, along with Ken Jeong as Venom and Donnie Wahlberg as bad guy Shane. But my favorite was Donald the Monkey (with the very silly vocal interpretation by Adam Sandler).
Equally good was Bernie the Gorilla (voice of Nick Nolte), Mollie the Giraffe (funny, funny voice of Maya Rudolph), Joe the Lion and Janet the Lioness (voices of Sylvester Stallone and Cher), along with many other great animal characterizations using the voices of talented stars.
With such great characters and quick and funny dialogue, I laughed all through this movie. I also cried a couple of times.
Griffin Keyes (Kevin James) is lead zookeeper and friend to all the animals in the zoo. He has lost his girlfriend, Stephanie (Leslie Bibb), so the animals decide to break their code of silence in order to offer him advice to help him get her back. His very special friend, Bernie the Gorilla, goes to great lengths to assist him. Does Griffin get the girl and does he leave the zoo to work as a car salesman just to please her? Or does he find happiness with Kate (Rosario Dawson)?
You'll just have to see the movie to find out!
Be forewarned, this movie does have adult humor. Young children would probably not understand much of it, but they will enjoy the animal characterizations, which looked so real.
I liked it so much; I have to give it four out of four animal-loving miners!
