Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Alan Werner, 52, of Kingman July 23 for aggravated DUI, a felony, along with two misdemeanor warrants for failure to comply with court orders issued by Kingman Justice Court and Kingman Municipal Court. Deputies observed a van stopped with its emergency flashing lights on at John L Avenue and Castle Rock Road around 3:30 p.m. and contacted the driver as he was stepping out of the vehicle. A records check showed Werner to have a suspended driver's license for a DUI and outstanding warrants. Deputies reportedly smelled an odor of alcohol on Werner. During conversations with Werner, he said he consumed alcohol the previous evening. Deputies observed Werner's speech was slowed and slurred. Werner refused to perform the field sobriety tests as requested by deputies, was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, where he also refused to submit to a breath analysis. A blood sample was taken from Werner to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis. Werner was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brandon James Lang, 23, of Kingman July 23 for felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in the area of Northern Avenue and Roosevelt Street around 1:30 p.m. Deputies smelled an odor of marijuana as they were speaking with Lang. Lang reportedly admitted that he had a marijuana pipe underneath his seat. Deputies confiscated the pipe. Lang was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
