Dorothy Deloris Pope of Golden Valley passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 5, 1927, in Roseau, Minn.
She moved to California where she met her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Pope. In the late '60s they moved to Golden Valley. Dorothy worked for many years for the Kingman Unified School District, mainly at Hualapai Elementary School. She was lovingly known by the students as "The Milk Lady." After she retired officially, she often worked at Black Mountain School.
Dorothy was a founding member of Golden Valley Assembly of God Church, and was a founder of the AA in Golden Valley.
Dorothy is survived by a niece, Joan Crowley; and a sister, Evelyn Drake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Golden Valley Assembly of God, 3355 N. Magma Road.
