KINGMAN

Girl Scout Cookies sales continue in earnest this weekend, with local Girl Scouts going door-to-door in Kingman neighborhoods with cookies ready to be purchased. Girl Scout troops will have weekend booths at both Safeways, both Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Smith's Food & Drug as well as other locations through March 20.

A portion of sales goes to each local troop to support their activities. The assortment of cookies includes favorites such as Lemon Chalet Creams, Trefoils, Do Si Dos, Tagalongs, Samoas and Thin Mints. An American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification class runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at Beale Street Deli, 509 E. Beale St.

The cost is $40 per student, lunch included.

LAKE HAVASU CITY

Gov. Jan Brewer will address members of the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce and the community about the Arizona Competitiveness Package during a special luncheon today at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. and guests need to be seated by 11:45 a.m. with the luncheon beginning promptly at noon.

Admission is $30 for Chamber members; general admission is $35. Along with the Chamber, the Lake Havasu Partnership for Economic Development and the London Bridge Resort are sponsoring the event.
