Mary Lou Twitchell, 78, of Kingman passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. She was born March 10, 1932, in Cleveland, Idaho, the oldest of seven children born to Warren and Mary Walton. On Jan. 13, 1950, she married Leo Beam Twitchell in Burley, Idaho. Together Mary Lou and Leo had and raised four beautiful children in their 52 years of marriage. She held many jobs over the years including bar and restaurant owner in Oakley, Idaho, school bus driver in Saratoga, Wyo., and truck stop manager in Kingman.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Cindy and Lonnie Anderson of Flagstaff, Ariz., Marty and Mike Hennek of Kingman, Kris and Mike Creed of Kingman, and Warren Twitchell also of Kingman; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Norman and Charmaine Walton of Saratoga, Ronnie and Kyong Walton of Rupert, Idaho, and Kent and Cindy Walton of Saratoga; two sisters, Idella Craner of Jerome, Idaho, and Barbara Craner of Burley; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Twitchell; parents, Warren and Mary Walton; and brothers, Sheldon and Leonard Walton.
A private memorial was held on Feb. 3 at the home of her son; a separate memorial service will be held this summer in Rupert, Idaho, at an annual family reunion. Mary Lou was cremated and her ashes will be placed with her husband's ashes in Elba, Idaho.
Mary Lou was a wonderful person, a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her and whose lives she touched.
