ARIZONA - The Arizona Department of Transportation will reopen State Route 67 between Jacob Lake and the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park for the summer season at 7 a.m. Sunday. Route 67, which is the lone road that links U.S. 89A at Jacob Lake to the North Rim, is regularly closed in the winter season, usually in late November, due to heavy snowfall. It is approximately a 21-mile hike between the North and South Rims or a 215-mile drive. From the South Rim, motorists can take State Route 64 east to U.S. 89, U.S. 89 north to U.S. 89A, U.S. 89A west to Route 67, and finally south on Route 67.
