Ms. Barbara June Volpi Stagner, 56, of Kingman passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. She was born Dec. 11, 1954, in Teaneck, N.J., to June and Ugo Volpi. She came to Kingman 15 years ago from Colorado.
Barbara earned a bachelors degree in psychology with honors from Florida State University. She was a dedicated homemaker. She was formerly science librarian at University of Wyoming, and formerly office manager at Stagner Eye Center. Barbara was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Cornerstone Mission, Belles of St. Mary's, and was a Cathecist at St. Mary's and a Palo Christi reading tutor.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Anna Stagner of Omaha, Neb.; two sons, Christopher Stagner of Phoenix and Matthew Stagner of Flagstaff; her parents, June and Ugo Volpi of North Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Linda Perrygo of Gaithersburg, Md., and Kathy Volpi of Melbourne, Fla.; and one brother, Robert Volpi of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Barbara was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, mentor and friend to all the many people who loved and respected her. She will be missed by the countless people she touched in her lifetime. She will live on in our hearts, actions and memories forever. She was a woman of God first and foremost and she is in heaven now.
Remembrance and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 302 E. Spring St. Burial will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road.
