Letter to the Editor: Arsenic in the water

Our community of Valle Vista is located 17 miles northeast of Kingman. Our whole community is concerned about the pollutants and the arsenic in our drinking and bathing water.

We recently had our home water tested and the level of arsenic is 25 parts per billion from the street to our house and 20 ppb through the filter in our refrigerator. We understand that the acceptable level is no more than 10 ppb.

Truxton Water is our supplier and they have been in violation many times before. We are also concerned that nothing has or will be done as Truxton Water's "reports" are outdated and any information is from years prior to 2011. As an example, the last result on arsenic was June 30, 2010, and already showed 11 to 13 ppb.

We have sent copies of this letter to the EPA.
