Lady Bulldogs to host Phoenix Barry Goldwater Tuesday

KINGMAN - Surprise Willow Canyon outscored Kingman High 21-7 in the fourth quarter en route to a 43-31 win Tuesday night in Surprise.

The Lady Bulldogs led 24-22 at the end of the third quarter, but had trouble making shots in the fourth.

"We were leading at halftime and we played well and we were moving the ball," KHS coach Danny Gonzalez said. "We ran everything well, but we just couldn't buy a basket in the fourth quarter."

Allison Owen led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points while Rachel Arave added six points.

Stephanie Goulart and Taylor Reed had five points, Selena Leon had three and Heather Wenninger rounded out the scoring with two.

KHS led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter and took a 18-16 lead at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs (0-1) will host Phoenix Barry Goldwater 7 p.m. Tuesday.

"There is no need to be worry, it's the first game and we are supposed to see what we need to work on," Gonzalez said.
