KINGMAN - A 54-year-old Kingman man faces up to 10 years in prison for downloading images of child pornography.

Mitchell Dean White pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor in court Wednesday as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

White was arrested in Jan. 2010 after a search warrant was served at his home in the 3000 block of Hualapai Mountain Road. Prosecutors said detectives found numerous images of children, some younger than 8 years old, engaged in sexual behavior with adult men and women.

The investigation was prompted after White's computer IP address was tracked by police in Phoenix with the Internet Crimes Against Children unit who were looking into peer-to-peer networks of exploitive images.

White can get no less than five and no more than 10 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Steven Conn on Oct. 26. Upon his release from prison, White will be on probation for the rest of his life and is prohibited from ever using a computer again.
