Bullhead City Police detectives solved numerous burglaries after the suspects were caught breaking into Hastings Sept. 29. At 11:30 p.m., police responded to Hastings Books, Music & Video store for a commercial burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front glass door was smashed and a security glass case was also broken. A witness reported seeing a male flee the area in a vehicle and gave police the license plate number. Police then responded to the address where the vehicle was registered on Yale Drive. The vehicle was parked at the residence. Officers could see a man through the window attempting to conceal electronic items. Dozens of stolen unopened electronic items with Hastings price tags were recovered. Police determined that Shane Christopher Longress, 22, broke into Hastings and stole the merchandise. His friend, Joshua Lloyd Nevarez, 23, waited for him outside in a vehicle and then drove to the residence on Yale Drive, where they both were arrested for burglary. Longress was additionally arrested for criminal damage. Subsequent to interviews, detectives discovered that Longress and Nevarez were responsible for seven additional burglaries and one attempted burglary during the past year. The burglaries included Scooters Family Fun Center, the Lodge on the River Motel and three separate burglary incidents at the VFW where cash was stolen. Plus, two residential burglaries and one attempted residential burglary. Additional charges are pending for Longress and Nevarez. They were booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
