KINGMAN - The National Parks Service has concluded that alcohol was not a factor in a July accident within the boundaries of Lake Mohave that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Kingman man.
NPS Spokesman Andrew Munoz said an autopsy concluded that Tylor Krabbe had no alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of the accident, which occurred sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. on Katherine's Landing Access Road July 7.
Officials initially believed that alcohol played a role because of containers found inside and around the vehicle. The wrecked vehicle was off the road, over a hill and into a ravine where it was discovered by a park maintenance employee more than an hour after the accident was believed to have occurred.
A 19-year-old passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured.
Munoz said the accident was caused by excessive speed and driver error.
