GV woman dies when 2 Harleys collide

KINGMAN - A 58-year-old Golden Valley woman was killed and her husband injured Saturday morning in an accident involving two motorcycles on Route 66 just south of Oatman.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said 62-year-old Don La Vetter of Tucson was northbound on his 2011 Harley Davidson around 11 a.m. when he crossed the center road line while going around a bend in the road.

La Vetter's motorcycle struck a 2007 Harley Davidson on which Steve Osborn, 60, and his wife, Donna, were riding. Donna was airlifted to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, where she died of her injuries Sunday evening.

Steve Osborn was listed Monday in fair condition.

La Vetter was treated and released from the hospital. He was ticketed for traveling left of center when approaching a curve in the roadway.
