Local ranchers, Ron and Anna Nyberg of "Alpacas of the Southwest," are inviting the public for a free tour of their ranch Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sept. 23-25th during "National Alpaca Farm Days." Their open house will be from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day. People will be able to see and pet the Nyberg's alpacas. They are native to South America and have very soft hair or fiber, which can be shorn and used to make fleece for clothing. There will be several vendors selling items ranging from leatherwork to patio furnishings and food will be available for purchase. The High Desert Astronomy Club will be on hand to provide telescope solar viewing. There will also be arts and crafts for kids and hand-spinning demonstrations. Here, Anna Nyberg poses Thursday with "Maggie May," a rare suri alpaca. Other alpacas can be seen in the background.

"Alpacas of the Southwest" is located at 1108 McCarrell. Call Ron and Anna Nyberg at (702) 338-7806 for more information.
