Kingman Letter: Slow down and save a life - mine

I would like to address the folks who travel down Beale Street, in downtown Kingman. The posted speed limit off of Andy Devine (Highway 66) is 30 mph by the Probation Department, and reduced further down to 25 mph.

Most folks do adhere to the posted limits. To those, we say thank you.

However, there are some motorists that will race by at speeds well over 50 mph. We have even watched as some pass on the right, coming extremely close to the curb while doing so.

This excessive speeding is not only limited to the general public. We watch both county and city official vehicles race by. This includes Department of Public Safety vehicles.

The other evening, we watched one of our Kingman Police officers race down the hill, thus prompting me to take some action by writing this letter.

We who live, work, and walk on Beale Street, ask those who travel down this street to slow down. The life you save may be mine.
