Obituary: Kevin D. Fowler

A burial Mass for Kevin D. Fowler, 83, resident of the Clinton Veterans Center, Clinton, Okla., will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingman and burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Kingman, under the direction of the Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.

Kevin Douglas "Doug" Fowler was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away Saturday March 31, 2012, in the Clinton Veterans Center.

Mr. Fowler was raised in Dallas, and enlisted in the United States Navy; he served during WWII. He was discharged and moved to Houston, where he met and later married Vance Porter in 1949. After their first two children were born he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge they moved to Southern California. The couple had five more children and he was employed with Baldwin Park Unified School District until his retirement in 1973. His wife preceded him in death in 2007 and he moved to Phoenix in 2008 and on to Oklahoma in 2010 where he has resided in the Clinton Veterans Center.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingman; he enjoyed fishing.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Moriah (Redmond) Fowler and three sisters, Marah, Ilene, and Patricia.

He is survived by seven children, Douglas; Linda and husband, Larry; John "Jack" and wife, Catherine; James "Jim"; Kevin "Mike"; Mary "Cathy" and husband, John; and Joseph "Kelly" and wife, Dorothy.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Ernest; Jason and wife, Jennifer; Emily; David; Julie; Steven; Keith and wife Ashley; Michelle and husband Quentin; and Shiloh; and six great-grandchildren, Westin, Jasmyne, Brenden, Caden, Michael and Kevin.
